UAV Symposium Presentation

Among all the seemingly random poster presentations I saw at the symposium today, the one that interested me the most was the Unmanned Ariel Vehicles. Their purpose is to find, to destroy, and to watch. What exactly they are suppose to do those things for was not explained, however, with the recent news of the drone that landed in Iran, you can attribute that the government uses UAVs for gaining information foriegn to our nation. UAVs are programmed and controlled from a safe location so that no one who is operating them risks any imminent danger if they are sent to war. Some UAVs are triangular for stealth while others are round to be able to transport loads. UAVs have been around for 25 years but only recently have begun to be perfected. Now they are modeled to be smaller, lighter, and more efficient. The poster showed different models throughout the years and new upgrades. Before the drone that got lost in Iran, I never knew they existed. I also did not know that they were legal or even acceptable to use over foreign territory.

Progress on Research Paper

I have done a lot of reading for my paper so far. My topic is Social Networking sites vs. The 1st Amendment. I am currently gathering information. I have not begun writing yet so I'm in the brainstorming process. I have to dissect everything about the 1st amendment, including historical cases and current cases that relate directly to my topic. I basically have to narrow everything I have right now down to something concrete and specific. I still feel confident about my paper. I know it will come together well.
